Lets Not Make it Difficult

 Personally, creating in my junk journal can sometimes overwhelm me. In fact, I USE TO get so overwhelmed I would walk away from it for a while. A loooong while. The thing is I really am passionate about being creative with all those little pieces or big pieces of paper, so for me to walk away and forget the love of crafting frustrates me even more. What I learned is that when we are playing art in our backrooms or basements, we have to reflect back to art time in grade school. If your class did not have art time, basically we were given a box of broken chewed up crayons and some crappy paper (which I love now) and told to draw a picture or just play until we came up with something. We weren't graded on what we created, we just needed to create something. And we did not judge each others work, as a matter of fact we usually were able to pin it up on a board outside the classroom in the hall for everyone to see. Gelli Printing

Today I did some focused Gelli prints using acrylic paint. I am not sure but I think that is the only thing you are suppose to use, but I am wondering if I can use alcohol inks. I will research it before I try it though. I am happy with the outcome of what I did today. I allowed time for the paint to dry between applications, which I think my previous failures were due to being too impatient with allowing time for the paint to dry between coats to get the impression of stencils. I mostly used all different colors but I did not use any reds. I tend to make a mess when implementing warmer colors; however, I plan to do some study on using warm colors together. I do like pinks, oranges, and a variety of reds. These are my favorite picks from all the prints. I especially like the stencil with the petals because of how the blue stands out in the leaves.
